A UNICEF monitoring visit to Gedaref reviewed the implementation of Jadian Youth Organization’s integrated education and child protection project and assessed progress, field activities and implementation priorities.
Jadian Youth Organization for Peace and Development welcomed a monitoring visit by a UNICEF Country Office official responsible for Child Protection and Education on 3 September 2026 in Gedaref State.
The visit focused on reviewing the implementation of the project “Expanding Integrated Education and Child Protection”, assessing progress against planned activities, identifying implementation challenges, and strengthening coordination around education and child protection priorities.
As part of the monitoring visit, the UNICEF official visited two schools participating in the project:
The field visit provided an opportunity to observe the implementation environment, engage with relevant stakeholders, and gain a better understanding of the needs and priorities of children and schools supported through the project.
The visit reflects the importance of continued coordination between humanitarian and development partners, local organizations and communities to ensure that children have access to safe, inclusive and quality learning environments while strengthening systems that protect children from risks and vulnerabilities.
